After the race, Cody Demps’ Israeli wife was subjected to insults and threats: “Murderer”

A very unfortunate incident marred the postgame atmosphere at the Flaminio in Rimini, a venue that should be associated above all with sports and its values. The Resto del Carlino reported the incident. At the end of the basketball game between Rinascita and Avellino, when the players had already returned to the locker rooms and most of the crowd had left the arena, two Rimini fans—described by the newspaper as being of North African origin, according to some witnesses—allegedly hurled severe insults at the Israeli wife of “Biancorosso” player Cody Demps.
According to witnesses, the two men addressed the woman, repeatedly shouting “murderer” at her, accompanied by an intimidating demeanor and mimicking the gesture of a gun with their hands.
The situation led to moments of high tension. Other Rimini fans, realizing what was happening, intervened to defend the wife of Demps, an American player who played in Israel last season. The woman, who is pregnant, was visibly shaken and in tears.
Even some supporters on the other side of the arena, after realizing what was happening, quickly made their way to the area to help her. The fans who intervened then tried to remove the two people accused of insulting and threatening her.
