Juventus’s struggles on offense remain a major concern, and further changes could be in store during the January transfer window. To put it bluntly: Nick Woltemade hasn’t impressed Luciano Spalletti. Arriving on a paid loan from Newcastle in the final hours of the summer transfer window, the German forward has struggled to find a place in the Tuscan coach’s lineup and has played just over 130 minutes so far without making an impact.

The international break with Germany does not seem to have revitalized the player, who failed to shine even with Klopp’s national team in the two matches played against Serbia and Greece. According to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, an early termination of the loan in January cannot be ruled out if the forward fails to settle in Turin and Spalletti cannot figure out where to deploy him on the field.

Should he leave, Juventus would immediately begin searching for a top-tier striker, bringing forward their summer investment to January. According to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, among the names to watch are former Italian national team player Mateo Retegui, Monaco forward Folarin Balogun, and Antonio Raimondo, a striker owned by Bologna who is on loan to Frosinone this season.

Woltemade arrived in Turin on September 1 amid high expectations: Juventus had paid Newcastle 2.8 million euros as a fixed fee, plus 0.8 million in ancillary costs and an additional 0.5 million tied to the achievement of certain sporting objectives. This was by no means a negligible investment for a straight loan, which now risks proving to be unprofitable from a technical standpoint.
