Spal, Cristian Chivu pops up
New revolution in Spal’s technical area at the end of the year
Two months before the end of the season, Spal is wondering about its future. The Estense club, which hopes to play for salvation in the playout, is already planning a new revolution in the technical area: according to Il Resto del Carlino, the name circulating as the next sporting director is that of Roberto Samaden, who will leave Inter at the end of this season after having held the role of head of the youth academy for years.
On Samaden’s trail are several Serie B clubs such as Cagliari, Parma and Palermo: with a view to his possible arrival in Ferrara, the name of Cristian Chivu has popped up for the Biancazzurra bench. The former Romanian defender has been coaching Inter’s primavera for two years and is ready for a role as head coach. The other name linked to Samaden is that of Stefano Vecchi, who could return to Spal after the 2011-12 season.
