A very good performance was not enough for Vero Volley Milan to snatch qualification to the first semifinal in CEV Champions League history.
After the 3-0 win in the first leg, VakifBank Istanbul only needed to win two sets to clinch passage to the next round, and they did. But Paola Egonu and her teammates had a hard time and twice went under in the score: winning the fourth set, however, they closed the account. The last partial set was irrelevant for the final 3-2 in favor of the guests.
