Whoever is there in the semifinals, blue is ready.

Jannik Sinner has Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz in his sights, set to face each other at the Miami Masters 1000 and then challenge him in the semifinals. Putting a clear 6-3, 6-1 win over Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori behind him, the South Tyrolean tennis player has already shifted his focus to his next opponent. And even if it is the Spaniard, current No. 1 on the ATP circuit, there will be no fear on his part.

“Either way, the match will be difficult, although depending on who gets through the round it will be a different challenge,” noted Sinner speaking to the press in Miami. In particular, Alcaraz has a very variable game. But I’ll be honest, after our last match I would be really happy to face him again.”

“I’ve said it several times before, and I repeat myself. It is precisely these challenges that allow you to improve more,” Sinner added. “In Miami the court is different than in Indian Wells, and because of that I am anxious to find out if the outcome can change as well. When you play against Alcaraz court and surface play a very important role.”

So Sinner reviewed the previous record with Alcaraz for him that was positive: “I managed to beat him both on grass and on clay, in Umag. Here in Miami then the court is very fast, so I’m not able to predict what will happen. I have grown physically, though, and that helps a lot. I feel I can still improve, hopefully the results will come too.”
