Cremonese shells Venezia, Catanzaro and Cittadella move closer
Capolista knockout, standings shorten.
Venezia defeated by Cremonese on Saturday in Serie B, with the other direct promotion pretenders taking advantage and moving closer to the leader. Catanzaro, in turn victorious, in fact moves to within just 3 points of the top spot. Two points moreù behind ticks Cittadella, which continues its streak of consecutive successes.
The big match of the day è however, the one at the Zini, where Cremonese beat Venezia 1-0. The grigiorossi saw a goal by Coda cancelled at 22' and were down to ten men already at 51' because of the red for Antov, but still won thanks to Ravanelli's signature at 80'. Instead, Catanzaro makes it 2-0 against Pisa: at 53' Ambrosino scores, at 82' comes Marin's own goal. Another 2-0 in Cittadella, where Cosenza falls: the goals are by Vita at 12' and Salvi at 27'.
Bari and Sampdoria also move closer to the playout zone. The Apulian “biancorossi” came back and beat Südtirol 2-1 (Sibilli scored on a penalty kick and Di Cesare, Vinetot’s momentary equalizer in between), the “blucerchiati” regulated Lecco 2-0 with Sebastiano Esposito’s double. For the low standings, Spezia's 2-1 win over Ascoli and Ternana’s 2-1 win over bottom-of-the-table FeralpiSalò are crucial.
