Nicola Akele sends a message to Gianmarco Pozzecco
Akele sets an important goal
It was a day of introductions at Germani Brescia, with coach Alessandro Magro and general manager Marco De Benedetto welcoming new signings Nicola Akele and David Cournooh in front of reporters at a press conference.
In addition to thanking the club for the occasion, the two players made no secret of their ambitions on a personal level, with Akele sending a real message to Italbasket coach Gianmarco Pozzecco: “For me it’s an honor to represent Italy and that’s why it’s something that’s always in my thoughts,” he said. “It always remains a goal and I’m trying to put myself in the best position to try to take it back. I know there are great players, it’s up to me to do well here and put myself in ideal conditions to be able to come back.”
For Cournooh, on the other hand, it’s a chance to put himself further back in the game after his experience in Cremona and the brief stint in Scafati. “Being here now is important for my career, I’ve been a protagonist in a different kind of team the last two years and for me it’s important to be able to do it in another context, at a higher level,” he said.
