Giro d'Italia Women, third stage
Lotte Kopecky (Team SD Worx – Protime) won the third stage of the Giro d'Italia Women, the 108-kilometer Frontone-Foligno. In second and third place were Chiara Consonni (UAE Team ADQ) and Arlenis Sierra (Movistar Team), respectively.
Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl – Trek) remains in the Maglia Rosa as leader of the general classification, having won it in the first stage and always successfully defended it so far.
Stage winner Lotte Kopecky, immediately after the finish, said: "I came close to success so many times since the start of the Giro and finally made it. I would like to thank my team who positioned me perfectly in the finale. The next fractions will be complicated, we will see how I will manage to go".
