A high-level start to the season could be the turning point.

Calciomercato Lazio: Marco Baroni has largely won over the biancoceleste square in these first months of his new management. Under his guidance, the Capitoline team è joined the six-pack that makes up the circle of the top of the class in Serie A, all packed within just two points at the league break. And now Claudio Lotito aims to armor the coach far beyond the agreements made so far.

In fact, the 'Gazzetta della Sport' says that è already underway is a management bid to extend Baroni’s contract. The Tuscan coach è is currently bound to Lazio until 2026, with a seasonal compensation of 1.3 million euros excluding bonuses. Based on his results, però, Lazio wants to extend it by two more seasons.

Ongoing negotiations speak of a new contract expiring in 2028 and with major tweaks to his salary: if the white smoke arrives, Baroni would go on to earn 2 million euros a year. Additional bonuses are also expected, which in turn could reach a total of 500,000 euros.

Baroni would also have some technical guarantees on some players who have become staples of his management. Lazio could therefore decide to retain Matias Vecino or Pedro, while it could add Adam Marusic, less central than in the past under the new management, to the list of departures.
