Roberto Piccoli ruins Patrick Vieira’s premiere

Sunday’s 13th day of Serie A opened with a draw between Genoa, led by new coach Patrick Vieira, and Davide Nicola’s Cagliari. The Sardinians immediately went ahead with Marin but the Ligurians turned it around with Frendrup and Miretti. In the final però Piccoli mocked Genoa, finally signing the 2-2.
Cagliari got off to a strong start and unblocked the game at 8'8' on a penalty kick with Marin, who dispatched Leali from the eleven meters. Genoa's response forò came after only four minutes with a left-footed shot from the penalty spot by Frendrup, who took advantage of a short rebound by Mina. In the second half of the first half, chances on both sides with Miretti for the hosts and Piccoli for the guests.
In the second half, the first chance è for the Sardinians in 58' with Leali saving everything on Gaetano’s left-footed shot. A minute later, the Grifone took the lead: Thorsby won a rebound and put in the center for Miretti who slotted in Sherri. In the final però, comes the mockery for the Ligurians: another penalty for Cagliari, this time converted by Piccoli, which fixes the score at 2-2.
With this draw Genoa and Cagliari both rise to 11 points in the standings, which momentarily sees the Sardinians in 15th place, a step higher than the Ligurians, in 16th position.
