At 38, the point guard has decided to officially retire

A long and fulfilling career. At 38, Luca Vitali has decided that è it is time to retire. He does so after playing for many top clubs, such as Olimpia Milano, Virtus Roma, Virtus Bologna, Reyer Venezia and Leonessa Brescia. He does so with 149 appearances with the national team.

"&It has been a beautiful journey, basketball è it was the first thing I fell in love with when I was a kid. There had to be an end to it. And as you mature the decision, you realize what a great luck you had, living your dream", his clear words to Tuttosport.

The 38-year-old point guard has è always stood out for his great self-sacrifice on the court. He always gave everything, trying, in every way, to help his teammates. His best memories? The season in Milan (2008/09) and the many games played with the national team jersey, his greatest love.

And now? Luca Vitali would not mind staying in the world of basketball, maybe being a coach: "I would love to, I try to approach this new experience with all the enthusiasm and passion I feel inside. And I like being able to learn so much from the best. I have decided to invest this season to go out and try to study all the greats", his summation.
