Gian Piero Ventura snubs Milan and Juventus
The former technical commissioner removes Milan and Juventus from the lot of favorites
If there's one aspect that has characterized this first part of the season in Serie A è certainly the balance. After thirteen days, Napoli è leads with only one point over Inter, Atalanta, Fiorentina and Lazio: a little further back is Juventus, undefeated but four lengths distant, while Milan is disappointing, seventh with ten points to make up on the top, despite having played one less game so far.
It was precisely the performance of Milan and Juventus, who last week faced each other in the direct clash at San Siro giving more yawns than anything else in the 0-0 final, that led Gian Piero Ventura to exclude the two clubs from the fight for the Scudetto: "I do not see either Milan or Juventus in the running," he said to the microphones of 'Kiss Kiss Napoli'.
"The three teams that will be in the fight will be Inter, Napoli and Atalanta,” added Ventura, who therefore also pulls the two league surprises, Fiorentina and Lazio, out of the fight. Juventus? Thiago Motta è recently arrived and has the same problems as Conte, but compared to the latter he has revolutionized the team".
The next day of Serie A, the 14th, will see Napoli away in Turin against the Granata, Inter face Fiorentina in the challenge at the top, Atalanta at the Roma field, Lazio at that of Parma, Juventus engaged at the 'Via del Mare' in Lecce and Milan at San Siro against Empoli. The other matches are Cagliari-Verona, Como-Monza, Bologna-Venice and Udinese-Genoa.
