Marcel Hirscher’s fairy tale ends in the worst possible way
Già operated in Graz: "The’last run of the season"
His return to racing had caused a stir. Hirscher, after five years as a spectator, had decided to return to compete in Holland's colors. Unfortunately, the eight-time World Cup winner's fairy tale ended in the worst way.
During a giant slalom training session in Reiteralm, the 35-year-old star suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee. Hirscher è was already operated on in Graz but, in fact, his dream of making a comeback in alpine skiing has è ended.
"The’last run of the season. What è which remains è is the’love for skiing. Thank you all for your support", his words in a video posted by Hirscher himself. An injury that puts the brakes on, at the most beautiful, his great desire to return to compete at the highest level or, simply, to be able to compete again.
Although he has not explicitly declared his permanent retirement from the world of skiing, it is hard to imagine that the Annaberg native will be able to return again after recovering from what è the worst injury that è happened to him during his entire career. His beautiful fairy tale è lasted very little. To be remembered is the 23° place in the giant in Soelden last October 27.
