Givova Scafati: official the signing of Sacar Anim

After the signing of Nikola Jovanovic to reinforce the long department, Givova Scafati announces a blow in the backcourt as well. The Campania-based club, in fact, has announced the signing of American guard Sacar Anim, who returns to Serie A after his experience with the Reggio Emilia jersey in the 2022-2023 season.  An extremely reliable outfielder on both ends of the court, the 1997 class comes to complete the roster at coach Damiano Pilot’s disposal after the departure of Jordan McRae.

Trained at Marquette University, he made his debut with the “Golden Eagles” jersey in the 2015/16 season, but it was in the next three years that he established himself as the University of Wisconsin’s top man: 9.7-point average and over 39 percent from 3-point range.

Not selected in the 2020 Draft, he plays the “post-Covid” season at the Agua Caliente Clippers (Los Angeles development team) before landing, the’following year, on the Old Continent. In Germany, in Bayreuth, his first experience: impact with Europe well more than positive thanks to 14.3 points average in 34 games.

In the 2022/23 season comes the call of Reggio Emilia (where he finds Andrea Cinciarini), with the biancorossi s’imposes himself as a “3&D”: basketball player capable of adding to an excellent 3-point shot (39%) also a remarkable defensive impact. He will close the season with 9.4 points in 27 minutes of usage in the LBA and 10 in the Basketball Champions League. After the adventure with Cinciarini, for Anim, comes the Israeli interlude where he shares the parquet with Elijah Stewart: at Hapoel Eliat he scores 12.2 points and 3.1 rebounds on average.

In this beginning of the 2024/25 season Sacar è in Bosnia, where with the Igokea jersey he scores about 8 points in just under 20 minutes of usage in 17 appearances between league (ABA League) and BCL.

"Anim's inclusion is designed to bring solidity and energy in the defensive half of the court, and will add versatility to our offense. He is a player with experience in high-level European leagues and having already faced the Italian championship recently è certainly, both for him and for us, an added value" this is the welcome message of Givova Scafati’s Ds Eugenio Agostinelli.
