Inter’s president Giuseppe Marotta gave a lengthy interview to Sky Sport editor Federico Ferri. During the conversation, Marotta took stock of 2024 and è opened up on many topics, including his future at’Inter.
“Meanwhile, I have to thank this ownership because it gave me confidence from the beginning and then gave me this greater responsibility by appointing me president of a company like Inter, which è something extraordinary – he said -. And it è for me, for my career. So on the one hand there’è is the stimulus to do better and better, on the other hand there’s the recognition from the owner’ for the trust, always with a view to making sure that the path of’Inter is a winning path, is a path full of results and so I would say in fact not è changed much if not the passion, commitment and dedication that I had before and which today è even more”
“If you have 11 talents you absolutely do not win any competition,” he added. “The’importance of a team sport è putting together, mixing together and creating a symbiosis between young and old. We have created a balance from this point of view between young and experienced players, the oldest you know è Acerbi who is 36 years old because è when then you have the experience, this experience you don’t put it into practice or show it only in the field of play but in that dark work that è the locker room, and so I believe that we have put together a team that has these components, that is; the dynamism of the young, the enthusiasm of the young and the experience and wisdom of the less young”.
“Simone Inzaghi has shown that he is a great professional and a very intelligent person. È he tiptoed into Inter, made no proclamations, adjusted himself to a very important role and grew as he got results, especially in one aspect which was the awareness of his own abilities; which he then put and managed to pass on to the players as well and therefore one of the fundamental aspects of his è the recognition of being a leader of the group of this team and inculcating what are the winning concepts: the work culture primarily, the sense of belonging, the great passion towards this work. All these components that were then supported by the work of the corporate management therefore by Ausilio, by Baccin, by Zanetti, by the whole company, made it possible to create a symbiosis that has brought us, I would say, quite far” Marotta then stressed.
