Despite finishing fourth in FP2 of the Bahrain GP, Charles Leclerc, at the microphones of “Sky Sport F1” did not hide his pessimism regarding Ferrari’s competitiveness ahead of the weekend.

“I am trying to push in a direction that allows me to get the most out of the car based on my driving style. Honestly, though, the potential of the car remains the same and we are not fast enough. McLaren is simply on another planet” began the Monegasque driver.

“We will have to work hard to improve the situation. The updates have given us what we expected, but unfortunately the gap to our rivals is still too big. We have to maximize the potential of the car, and if it is fourth or fifth place, then we will have to aspire to that. I hope that at some point we will return to being the fastest car on the track, so that we can fight for victory and not, at best, third place” added Ferrari’s number 16.

“We are more or less there with Mercedes, while I think Verstappen is a little bit ahead of us, but let&#8217s wait and see what happens. I think we can still find some performance before qualifying and we will do everything to make the most of the’update we brought” concluded Charles Leclerc.
