Jasmine Paolini strengthens her sixth place in Wta ranking

WTA – a day later than usual – after the conclusion of the WTA 500 in Stuttgart and the WTA 250 in Rouen. Also this week there are three Italians in the top 100. The tricolor leader always Jasmine Paolini who, thanks to the semifinal on the German indoor clay strengthens her position: the 29-year-old from Bagni di Lucca occupies the sixth seat, two steps from the “best” (but especially very close to Keys).

Behind her takes a step back Lucia Bronzetti, number 59, while she takes two steps forward Elisabetta Cocciaretto, now number 87. Lucrezia Stefanini, now number 150, recovers one position, while Sara Errani loses two: the veteran Italian, in top ten doubles, is at number 154.

Slides back another nine rungs Martina Trevisan, stopped in the pits for surgery on her left foot, now number 157. Nuria Brancaccio, on the other hand, rises six, now number 200, while Giorgia Pedone loses eight places, dropping to number 237. Thanks to the eighth-place finish in Rouen (starting from the qualifiers), Camilla Rosatello, now number 251, gains 37 positions, bypassing Nicole Fossa Huergo, who takes six steps back, to number 264, and closes the Italian top-ten.

This week Paolini and Bronzetti are starting in the main draw of the Madrid “1000” (with Cocciaretto and Stefanini in the qualifying round).
