For the seventh year in a row, Daniele Santarelli is the coach of the Italian women’s volleyball champion team.

The Imoco Volley project started from afar and has made the 1981-born coach one of the most successful in the national volleyball scene. Despite this, Santarelli prefers to shield himself, distributing the honors first and foremost to the players he coaches.

“The girls were great, they made very few mistakes – explained the coach of the Panthers on the sidelines of Imoco Volley’s success in match-3 in the Scudetto final against Vero Volley Milano -They knew how to wait for the mistakes of our opponents, taking advantage of even situations that might not have been perfect for us, to give us a beautiful celebration, in front of a great audience”.

We still have one goal left to achieve this season to complete a legendary en plein: the Champions League. Santarelli, however, is not afraid of dips: “We know that whoever comes here must have the fire inside, must want to win everything every year– he said, without mincing words -. There are only people here who believe in the project”.

In the European arena, the rivalry between Conegliano and Milan will be renewed, as they will face each other in Istanbul in one of the two Champions League semifinals: “Vero Volleyball remains a difficult opponent– explained Santarelli -. Tonight we gave ourselves a moment to celebrate, but from tomorrow we have to think about the next battle, because Milan will do everything to make it difficult for us”.
