Marc Marquez has won three times as Pecco Bagnaia the Spanish Grand Prix at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, but if the Turin-based rider has succeeded in the last three seasons, the Iberian has failed to win there since 2019 after successes in 2014 and 2018.

On the eve of one of his home races Marquez spoke about his form: “The’last time I felt like that was in 2019, when everything was going smoothly. But then 2020 also came. I do not want to compare because I am not better after four arm operations. I’m different. Then I just wanted to win, now I enjoy every moment”.

“Superiority? I have heard of it, but it is a term I try to avoid. That word makes you let your guard down. Mistakes come, like the one I made in Austin. This world championship has just started and anything can happen”.

“The Spanish GP in Jerez is always special, the first race in front of the Spanish fans of the season. I am happy, it will be a challenging weekend. In Qatar we went strong, we worked well and we got the maximum result on a track where, at least on paper, I thought I would struggle more” concluded Marquez.
