Italian Associations of Sports Agents, position statement

Note of the Italian Associations of Professional Sports Agents specializing in soccer, A.I.A.C.S. ASSOAGENTI and I.A.F.A.

“Taking note of the irrational and unreasonable publication by the F.I.G.C. of the new Sports Agents Regulations; having found a plurality of provisions that differ from the superordinate legislative acts of reference; noting that the issuance took place in defiance of the applicable norms of the national and community order regarding regulated professions: communicated that it has jointly, vehemently and promptly, instructed its Lawyers in order to act in all the competent fora to protect the rights of the professional category of Sports Agents, rights won through years of “union battles”.

“In addition, the undersigned Associations declare to discontinue any form of dialogue with the F.I.G.C. and, at the same time, call on the competent Governmental Authorities to intervene immediately in order to ensure the enforceability and full application of the sector’s legislative measures already promulgated. The Associations, moreover, will work to propose a regulatory intervention that will allow Sports Agents to definitively free themselves from the Sports Ordinance”.
