The Berrettini brothers together in doubles at the Internazionali d’Italia: "A dream come true"

Rome is preparing to welcome one of the most anticipated events in world tennis with an event that promises special emotions for the Italian public: Matteo and Jacopo Berrettini will play the doubles tournament together at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2025 thanks to a wild card granted by the organizers and the Italian Tennis Federation. For the two Roman brothers, it will be a unique opportunity to share their home court, at the Foro Italico, in front of an audience that can’t wait to cheer them on.
“A dream come true”, wrote Matteo on social, a thought immediately shared by his younger brother Jacopo: “At our home together, thank you for the’opportunity”. An occasion with great emotional value, but also sporting: although their careers have taken different directions – Matteo starring on the ATP circuit, Jacopo more present in Challengers – their human and professional bond has always been very strong.
This is not the first time the “Berrettinis” have taken the court together: their debut was in 2015 in a Future tournament in Piombino, while their first victory came two years later in Cortina. The best result remains the semifinal they won at the ATP tournament in Cagliari in 2021. However, their last attempts in doubles – in Florence in 2022 and Acapulco in 2023 – ended in the first round.
Matthew’s return to the clay court of the Foro Italico, after a three-year absence due to injury, is already one of the most anticipated events. Currently number 31 in the ATP ranking, he will be among the seeded players in the singles and will try to regain his best tennis right in front of his fans. With the simultaneous return of Jannik Sinner as well, the Rome tournament promises to be unforgettable. And with two Berrettinis on the court, the spectacle is guaranteed.
