Charles Leclerc, comes a hit from former F1 champion
Damon Hill goes down flat with Charles Leclerc
“Charles Leclerc, he’s a charming, intelligent guy, but he’s anxious: he really conveys a certain anxiety.” Damon Hill, the 1996 world champion, did not mince words when describing Ferrari’s Monegasque driver during a speech to the official Formula 1 podcast.
The jab from Graham’s son came when he was asked to compare the feelings aroused by Leclerc and Verstappen: if Charles was defined as “anxious,” decidedly less harsh words were instead uttered to describe the Dutchman: “Max conveys a sense of confidence and calmness,” Hill said. “I remember the first time I spoke to him, he was 17 years old and knew very well how to behave. He has incredible self-confidence.”
