Antonio Tiberi ready to turn the season around

There will also be Antonio Tiberi among the riders with ambitions of victory at the Tour de Pologne, one of the oldest road races in history, whose first edition dates back to 1928. The Bahrain Victorious climber aims to turn around a season that seemed to start with good expectations but was affected by a crash at the Giro d’Italia in the Nova Gorica stage.
On that occasion, Tiberi was involved in a crash with several other members of the peloton, and although he returned to the saddle, he suffered the blow in the following days, finishing the Corsa Rosa in 17th place, a full 46 minutes behind the winner, Simon Yates. In Poland, the climber from Ciociaria wants to return at least to the levels of Tirreno-Adriatico, where he had finished on the podium.
In the previous 81 editions of the Tour de Pologne, there have been four Italian riders to finish the race in the yellow leader’s jersey: the first was Francesco Locatelli in 1949 (the first non-Polish rider to win the race), followed by Maurizio Fondriest in 1994, Alessandro Ballan in 2009 and Moreno Moser in 2012.
Among the participants in the Tour de Pologne 2025 will also be Diego Ulissi of the XDS Astana Team: the veteran of the peloton, who is experiencing his 16th season as a professional this year, has twice finished the race on Polish roads on the podium, in 2019 behind Pavel Sivakov and Jai Hindley and in 2024, finishing second behind Jonas Vingegaard.
