Tragedy in Portugal: Jeferson Merli has died. He was 27 years old

Football in mourning: Jeferson Merli, goalkeeper of Grupo Desportivo de Caldelas, died at age 27 after drowning inside the Peneda-Gerês National Park. This was reported by Grupo Desportivo de Caldelas through an official note.
“It is with enormous sadness and deep sorrow that we received the news of the passing of our goalkeeper Jeferson Merli. Jeferson, who had recently renewed with our club, leaves us not only his dedication on the field, but also the friendship, professionalism and spirit of togetherness that always distinguished him”.
“In this time of sorrow, GD Caldelas expresses its leadership offer heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of hanging out with him. Our club will never forget him” concludes the note.
