Mario Aguero has died, he made rink field hockey history

Goodbye to Mario Aguero, a great performer of rink field hockey who passed away suddenly. Born in 1957 in Argentina in his homeland he played for Concepcion de San Juan. He first came to Italy in 1979 and made his debut with Follonica before moving to Spain, where he played with Liceo La Paz between 1983 and 1985. Back in Italy, he wore the Monza jersey, first with the’Hockey Club and then with Roller, experiencing memorable Scudetto challenges.
With the Argentine national team, in an biancoceleste jersey, he won numerous triumphs, including the 1984 world championship played in Novara. As a coach, he led several club teams and national selections, continuing his long and brilliant career.
“He leaves us a good man. A great connoisseur of Hockey. A friend of the Azzurra to whom we all (society, coaches, staff and players of yesterday and today) owe much. Goodbye Mario. Indeed, as we used to say to each other whenever we saw each other ‘Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar'” the greeting of Hockey Azzurra Novara, where he was at work until a few years ago and who divulged the sad news.
