Pisa, double lead not enough: friendly with Augsburg ends in a draw

After the drubbing three days ago against Bayer Leverkusen, Pisa came close to success in a friendly against Augsburg’but wasted two goals in the final 20 minutes. The score of the match, at the triple whistle, was 2-2, with Alberto Gilardino rotating 19 players on the field, taking advantage of the opportunity to make more substitutions than in official matches.
The Nerazzurri goals both bore the signature of Matteo Tramoni: on 41′ the class of 2000 converted a penalty kick, beating opponent goalkeeper Labrovic from the eleven meters, while on 68′ he scored the double, giving the newly promoted team in A the illusion of being able to close the friendly with a prestigious victory.
To spoil the plans of Tramoni and associates came the Beninese Steve Mounie, scoring twice, first at 72′ and then at 83’83’. Inconsequential, in the final, was the red card waved in front of Cedric Zesiger, who had already been cautioned in the first half: Augsburg were left with ten men in the final minutes, but the result never changed again.
As for the formation, Pisa lined up with Scuffet in goal, Angori, Caracciolo (captain), Denoon and Mateus Lusuardi in defense, Aebischer, Marin, TourĂ© and Tramoni in midfield, Meister and Moreo in attack. After halftime, Canestrelli, Durmush, Piccinini, Lind and Mbambi took over (for Mateus Lusuardi, Angori, Caracciolo, Meister and TourĂ©), while from 61′ Hojholt, Akisanmiro and Calabresi took over for Marin, Aebischer and Denoon.
