Coppa Italia 2025-2026: Padova-L.R. Vicenza, the likely lineups

Padova and Vicenza, great adversaries last year in the Group A of Serie C in which they contended for promotion to Serie B and historical rivals of Veneto soccer, inaugurate their season by facing each other in the preliminary round of the Italian Cup. Teams take the field at 7:30 p.m. at the Stadio Euganeo in front of more than 6,000 spectators; the winner will face Genoa at Marassi in mid-August. The formula involves 90 minutes of play plus recovery and, in case of a draw, directly penalty kicks.

Some formation problems for Padova, with Matteo Andreoletti in particular having to deal with the probable absences of Barreca and Favale on the left. Therefore Ghiglione should play, while on the right will be Faedo to take the place of the disqualified Capelli. Baselli is ready in midfield, in a runoff with Varas. Forwards should play Seghetti and Bortolussi, not Buonaiuto, who should keep Spagnoli company on the bench.

In Vicenza, coach Fabio Gallo must do without captain Costa, while in attack he should prefer former Capello to Stuckler. Also ready for the season debut are Gagno in goal and Caferri on the right flank, while Tribuzzi should find space on the left. In the center of the field is Vitale with Carraro and Cavion.
