Sofia Goggia explains Jannik Sinner’s victory at Wimbledon

Sofia Goggia gave a lengthy interview to Libero in which she also spoke about Jannik Sinner, fresh winner of Wimbledon. In the last act of the Championships, the world number one defeated Carlos Alcaraz, avenging the painful defeat in the final at Roland Garros.
“To be back on the court and to be able to express this level of play, after what happened in the previous Slam, surprised even me – the South Tyrolean had said during the media day of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 -. I am very happy”.
“Jannik said he was amazed at how he won Wimbledon, dominating it – said the Italian skier -. But I understand him, he used the pain of the three-month stop and the Roland Garros defeat in every ball he sent back across the court to Alcaraz”.
After his triumph at Church Road, Sinner returned to the court at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 in preparation for the Us Open, the last Slam of the year, where last year he won his second Major in the final against Taylor Fritz.
