After Jannik Sinner, it&#8217s Carlos Alcaraz&#8217s turn: the Azzurro&#8217s great rival returns to the court on Tuesday in Cincinnati to snatch a pass to the round of 16 of the U.S. Masters 1000, as the Alto Adige native did last night against Diallo. Ahead of him Alcaraz has Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic, 23 years old and currently ranked No. 72 in the world rankings.

Alcaraz is coming off a less-than-successful tournament debut against Bosnian Dzumhur, defeated 2 sets to 1 at the end of a more complicated match than expected for the Murcian, author of more than 40 free errors.

Medjedovic is a protégé of Novak Djokovic and an opponent not to be underestimated: in the first and second rounds he overcame without losing sets Kovacevic and Griekspoor, who are ahead of him in the ATP rankings.

The two tennis players, who have never faced each other in an official match on the ATP circuit, will take the court no earlier than 6:30 p.m. (Italian time) on Tuesday, Aug. 12, on Cincinnati’s center court.
