Gigio Donnarumma, agent puts PSG in crosshairs: "He wanted to stay"

PSPG soccer market: Gianluigi Donnarumma is now more and more on the fringes of the reigning French champions’ project, after the exclusion from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup. On the matter the coach of the Parisians Luis Enrique had already expressed himself, but in the meantime also came the point of the situation from the goalkeeper’s agent, Enzo Raiola.
“You can tell from his words that Gigio is very sorry. I, on the other hand, am appalled – said Raiola in an interview broadcast by ’Sky Sport‘ on Tuesday evening – In ten days a castle has collapsed, after four years of great respect and results. They risk erasing everything Donnarumma has done with PSG“.
Raiola then went into specifics about the non-renewal of Donnarumma, who remains expiring with Paris Saint-Germain in June 2026. “The whole thing went on for a long time, with PSG’s demands different from those of the standard contract – said the prosecutor. Gigio had even accepted downward conditions. He was happy to stay, but the tables have turned”.
According to Raiola, the breaking point came at the Club World Cup. “Until Los Angeles we were talking about renewal– explained Donnarumma’s agent. I doubt that in a month Luis Enrique changed his mind, and that is the thing that makes me saddest. There from PSG they confirmed everything to me, I reminded them that Gigio still had another year and preferred not to do anything else. What has happened since then was totally unexpected, as well as deeply disrespectful”.
