Rain hinders Jannik Sinner in Cincinnati

Only rain could stop Jannik Sinner at the Cincinnati Masters 1000. A disturbance that hit the city of Mason, in fact, caused the suspension of the challenge valid for the round of 16 between the world and seeding number one and Adrian Mannarino, number 89 in the ATP rankings.
Play was halted with the Blue ahead by a set and down 2-1 in the second set.
In the fourth game Sinner went ahead 40-0, the Frenchman climbed back up to 40-30 before the chair judge halted the match due to rain.
The South Tyrolean champion had won the first partial 6-4: Deciding the set was the break obtained by Sinner in the third game. On serve the world number one allowed the crumbs to his opponent, closing the first set fluently.
There are three previous matches between Sinner and Mannarino, all of them smiling at the’current world ranking leader: in 2020, in the semifinals in Sofia it ended 6-3, 7-5, in 2022 in Montreal 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the round of 16, in 2023 in Indian Wells Sinner won 7-6(7), 6-4.
