Jannik Sinner spoke hot on the Italian night after beating Adrian Mannarino in the round of 16 of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 with a score of 6-4 7-6 (4). A match that lasted one’hour and 48 minutes but due to a nearly three-hour rain interruption turned into a marathon.

“Mannarino is a very difficult opponent, different from all the others. He served very well. I tried to change the position in response, I struggled to close the match but it happens in sports. I am happy to be in the next round”.

Sinner will return to the court as early as Thursday night after 9 p.m. to play the quarterfinals against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, who was victorious over transalpine Benjamin Bonzi.

“I’m going to play right away, so now I won’t train – he added, referring to the extra post-match first-round session -I need to keep my body as fresh as possible. Getting to the quarters in every tournament is very important, I hope to raise the level”.
