The friendly played at Pistoia’s Stadio Melani between hosts Pistoiese, a Serie D club, and newly promoted Pisa in Serie A ended with a 1-1 result. Thursday night’s was the second consecutive draw in a friendly, following the 2-2 draw in Germany with Augsburg a few days ago.

Everything was resolved, in fact, in just a few minutes: Louis Buffon, a 17-year-old striker and son of 2006 world champion Gianluigi, put the Tuscan Nerazzurri ahead at 25′ of the second half, while Lorenzo Pinzauti scored the equalizing goal five minutes later, on a penalty kick awarded by referee Briganti of Carrara for a foul in the box by Angori on Diallo.

The one played in Pistoia was the last pre-season test for Pisa, which will start in earnest this weekend: in fact, the team coached by Alberto Gilardino will be engaged on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 8:45 p.m. at home of Cesena, in the 32nd final match of the 2025-2026 Italian Cup. Seven days later the first in Serie A, again away, against Atalanta.

Against Pistoiese, the Biella coach fielded from 1′ Scuffet, Calabresi, Caracciolo, Lusuardi, TourĂ©, Marin, Aebischer, Durmush, Piccinini, Tramoni and Lind. In the resumption, immediately after halftime, Nicolas, Canestrelli, Angori, Mbambi, Leris, Akinsanmiro, Hojholt, Maucci, Moreo, Meister (in turn replaced at 9′ by Casarosa) and Buffon entered instead.
