Coppa Italia: Genoa, Sassuolo, Lecce and Empoli advance to the round

Four matches of the second round of the Italian Cup were played late afternoon and Friday evening: no surprises came, four home victories. L’Empoli won on penalty kicks against Reggiana, after regulation time ended 1-1 due to goals by Gondo and Ilie.
The Azzurri will face Genoa in the third round, which overwhelmed Vicenza 3-0 at Marassi thanks to goals by Valentin Carboni, Stanciu and Benassai’s own goal. Sassuolo narrowly beat Catanzaro 1-0 thanks to Doig’s goal at 32′ on Berardi’s assist: for the neroverdi in the third round one between Como and Sudtirol.
Lecce also did well, who needed only Krstovic’s goal on a penalty kick and Kaba’s goal at the expiration of the match to get right Juve Stabia. The Giallorossi, who were down 10 for a half after Banda’s expulsion, will face the winner of the challenge between Milan and Bari. Camarda immediately decisive for the Salentini with an assist.
