There will still be Nick Schlitzer on the technical staff of the Pallacanestro Trieste. After working with Jamion Christian in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons, the American coach will also continue his experience in the red and white team with the Giulians’ new coach, Spaniard Israel Gonzalez. For Schlitzer, class of 1992, it will thus be the third consecutive season in Trieste.

“We are extremely happy to be able to count on Nick again – explained Paul Matiasic, patron of the red and white club -. Continuity is a fundamental value for our project and Nick represents a really important piece of our staff. Over the years he has demonstrated not only great technical skills, but also a dedication and ability to get in tune with the players that have been invaluable for their individual growth. His confirmation is a sign that we want to continue building on the solid foundation we have laid, valuing the people who have contributed to our successes and who share our vision”.

“Nick has been a silent hero, an unobtrusive protagonist, and has authentically contributed to the successes we have achieved these past two seasons in Trieste– commented instead the general manager of Pallacanestro Trieste, Michael Arcieri. “As a team and as a society, two of our most living core values are relentless work and daily improvement. Individual player development is a founding pillar of our basketball culture. Nick Schlitzer has captained our player development program, producing nothing short of extraordinary results”.

“We have witnessed the’evolution of numerous players over the past two seasons, and Nick’s imprint is clearly visible in these great strides– added Archers. “His technical expertise is top-notch; his work ethic is unparalleled; and his calm, genuine and empathetic manner make him a favorite among the players. He has never sought attention or recognition. On the contrary, he derives his joy from the improvements of our players, sketching a smile or a nod of approval when one of his “students” takes that step forward in a game or practice”.

“Continuity is a core value at Trieste, and Nick’s return is crucial to our identity and the way we live basketball. We are absolutely thrilled that Coach Schlitzer is coming back with us for this exciting season and we welcome him home with open arms” concluded the red and white executive.
