Jackson Tchatchoua leaves Verona to move to Wolverhampton. The announcement was made by the same Gialloblù club through an official note: “Hellas Verona FC announces that it has sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club – outright – the right to the sports performance of defender Jackson Tchatchoua”.

However, the Verona club wasted no time, already announcing his replacement with another statement: “Hellas Verona FC announces that it has acquired – permanently – from KV Mechelen the sporting services of Belgian defender Rafik Belghali, who signed a contract with the Gialloblù club until June 30, 2029″.

Born in Leuven, Belgium, of Algerian descent, Rafik Belghali is a right-back who grew up in the youth sectors of Belgian and Dutch clubs such as Sint-Truiden, PSV, Lierse, Zulte Waregem and Lommel. In 2023 he moved to Mechelen, a team with which he made his Pro League debut on July 30, 2023, in the 1-1 draw against Club Brugge. During his first year in the Belgian top league he collected 9 appearances, 2 goals and 1 assist.

Last season, Belghali totaled 36 appearances, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist, plus 2 appearances in the Croky Cup, the Belgian national cup.

Internationally, he wore the Algeria U23 jersey, receiving his first call-up in March 2022 for two friendlies against Mauritania.
