Imane Khelif denies withdrawal and goes on the counterattack

Imane Khelif is back on the record and did so on social media to refute statements made by her former manager who spoke of retirement from boxing for the Olympic champion.

“First of all, I would like to make it clear that the news of my retirement from boxing is not true and is based solely on statements made by someone who no longer represents me in any way, who I believe has betrayed the trust and betrayed the country with his false claims”.

“I never announced my retirement from boxing, but I am still committed to my sports career. I train regularly and maintain my fitness between Algeria and Qatar, in preparation for upcoming engagements”.

“Such rumors are spread only to upset and insult my athletic and professional career. I will always remain loyal to the sport of boxing and to my homeland, Algeria”.

“This fake news will not discourage me from continuing to defend and honor the colors of my country at the international level. I thank all those who have supported me and still support me, and I confirm that my journey will continue God willing”, concluded the Paris gold medalist.
