Ducati centaur Marc Marquez commented at a press conference in Hungary on the crisis of his teammate Pecco Bagnaia: “Pecco has given Ducati two world titles and will continue next year in Ducati, he can still give a lot to Ducati”.

“When an athlete goes into a spiral, when things don&#8217t go well, you start to lose confidence, goals don…t come; and suddenly, overnight, when you have talent and you&#8217ve already made it, you start doing well again. The same thing happens to MotoGP riders, when you lack confidence, you start losing .030 or .050 in braking. We’re talking at the end of the lap about two tenths, and that’s enough to finish on the podium or eighth. Pecco is showing that he has the speed, because otherwise you don”t have a Friday like his in Austria”.

“He just has to find the confidence in himself, like I did last year when I started with Ducati. You were pushing me to get results, and I said, “First of all, I have to regain my self-confidence. I have to regenerate myself and believe in myself again”. When you go through times like this, you doubt yourself”.

“I think Pecco is in that transition phase, but despite the tension, he is third in the World Championship. If you take away me, he would be 55 points behind second. In sports, the’last race or the&#8217last match is worth a lot, but you also have to understand the history he has built with Ducati”.
