Danilo Gallinari shook up the market: rumors about three clubs

Danilo Gallinari has decided to put a definitive end to the Olimpia Milano issue: the 37-year-old basketball star acknowledges that possibility is now almost gone.
“I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I see it as very, very difficult. The more time passes, the more complicated it becomes” he had stated a few days ago. Words that ignited the debate and that Gallinari himself wanted to clarify during the podcast A Cresta Alta, directly from the Limassol retreat with the national team, on the eve of EuroBasket 2025.
“Let’s be clear once and for all: to return to Milan you have to be wanted. It has always been a dream of mine, I have said it many times, even in the last years in the NBA I was thinking about it. But it’s not like I wake up in the morning and call and say, “I’m ready, do you want me?” In the last two-three years, I, my father or my agents have been contacted by several Italian and European companies, even recently”.
There are those who speculate about a resounding attempt by Zalgiris Kaunas, when it was coached by Andrea Trinchieri, but among the names circulating now are also those of Trapani (“I have made an offer to a great Italian player” wrote Valerio Antonini a few days ago) and Monaco.
“I thank those who showed interest, but a phone call never came from Milan. And at 37 years old, returning to Europe is even more difficult, for reasons on and off the court” noted the’athlete born on’8-8-88 who has already worn the Olimpia jersey between 2006 and 2007, returning briefly in 2011 during the NBA lockout. After winning the Puerto Rican championship with the Vaqueros de Bayamon, he is ready to live the last big chapter of his career in the Azzurri jersey: EuroBasket 2025, now just around the corner, will in fact be his last experience with the national team.
