Andrea Cinciarini goes to Brindisi, now official

At a note, Valtur Brindisi announced ‘with satisfaction’ that it has finalized the agreement with Italian point guard Andrea Cinciarini, the best assistman in the history of Italian basketball. ‘Cincia’ will arrive in Brindisi in the coming hours and will be able to receive his first warm welcome on Wednesday night in Ostuni on the occasion of the first edition ‘Valtur Cup’.
The player binds himself to the biancoazzurra club with a three-month contract, with an extension option in favor of the club until the end of the 2025/26 sports season.
The basketball history of Andrea Cinciarini is written in the annals of Italian basketball. A pure and essential playmaker, 193 cm, born in 1986, in January 2023 he officially became the best assistman in Serie A, surpassing the previous record of 1,772 assists held by Gianmarco Pozzecco. A year later, he surpassed 2,000 assists in Serie A, the first player in history to cross this legendary mark. His name is imprinted on other all-time records: 18 assists distributed in a single game, a record he shares with Luca Vitali, and in February 2022 he became the first Italian-born player to record a triple-double (12 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds).
The personal trophy cabinet is also rich in team successes, nine in total the trophies raised with Olimpia Milano’s red shoes from 2015 to 2021, six years of which the last five as captain: two Scudetti, three Italian Cups four Italian Super Cups and a participation in the EuroLeague Final Four. In the international arena he enriched his palmares with the conquest of the Eurochallenge in Reggio Emilia in 2014, named MVP of the event. His experience in the Azzurri singlet is worth mentioning: four participations in European championships (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017) and 130 total appearances as point guard for the Italian national team.
