US Open: Lorenzo Musetti makes a comeback and flies to the second round

Lorenzo Musetti has qualified for the second round of the US Open 2025: the Carrara-based tennis player overcame Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the Flushing Meadows tournament opener, defeating him in four sets with the scores of 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in just over two and a half hours.
Complicated debut and convincing test for the world number 10 against the Frenchman, who had managed to pull ahead in the match by winning a first set dominated by services at tie-break.
From the second set came out the greater quality of the Blue, who grew in response and also sent the number 37 of the ATP ranking into a crisis in serve.
Musetti will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Halys and Belgian Goffin in the second round.
