Marc Marquez is on the verge of reaching another Valentino Rossi record

Marc Marquez is close to equaling another Valentino Rossi record: thanks to his success in Hungary at Balaton Park, the rider from Cervera has won on 22 different circuits in his career: the Doctor’s record is 23.
Marc Marquez could join Valentino Rossi at the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika, where he has so far failed to impose himself. If he manages to win there as well, he would equal VR46 and move just one win away from the all-time record of Mick Doohan, who won at 24 different circuits in his career.
The Ducati rider has won the last seven Grand Prix races held, both the Sprint and Sunday races, and is very close to his ninth world title, which would allow him to join the very former centaur from Tavullia.
Next weekend is the home Grand Prix in Catalonia, a track he loves and hates: “I like the Montmeló circuit because it is my home circuit, but if it wasn’t, I would hate it. If the circuit was on the’other side of the world, it would be the’last one I would go to…”.
