Just hours after the presentation of the 2025 edition of the GP d’Italia, come Domenicali’s words to cool the enthusiasm of Italian fans and, in particular, those who frequent the Autodromo di Monza. Despite a guaranteed contract until 2031, the president and CEO of Formula 1 wants the restyling of Monza to continue and also to happen quickly.

“The ACI in Italy can only invest in one Grand Prix, so it was right to prioritize Monza, but it is not enough to have fixed the underpasses and the road system… There’is a flood of works to be carried out”, Domenicali&#8217s own words reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

In fact, even during the presentation of the 2025 edition of the GP d’Italia, the many speakers present stressed that there is still a lot to be done (among many, as many as three new grandstands and a new media building). From Domenicali comes the clear invitation to get everything done quickly, also because more and more countries are pushing to have their own GP (Portugal, Germany and Turkey).

The competition is such that, reluctantly, Imola’s fate now seems sealed. As Domenicali himself pointed out, it will be very difficult indeed for Imola to have its own Formula 1 Grand Prix again in the future. A pity for Italy even if, in modern Formula 1, it is complicated to be there, sometimes even to stay there.
