MotoGp, VR46: Franco Morbidelli underlines an'unknown ahead of the Catalan GP

After a more than decent race weekend in Balaton, marked by third place in the Sprint Race and sixth in Sunday’s long race, Franco Morbidelli is looking forward to the Catalan Grand Prix with optimism, aiming to raise the bar even higher and try to overtake Pedro Acosta in the overall standings, thus entering the Top 5.
“We arrive at the Grand Prix of Catalonia with the officialdom of the renewal with the team for next year and I am very happy – explained Morbidelli, on the heels of signing the contract that will bind him to the colors of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team also in the MotoGp 2026 season -. Barcelona, however, is a completely different track from Hungary, where we raced two weeks ago”.
“It is a track we know very well, where we have done many laps, both in GP and in testing. The grip is also special, so it will be complicated. The results obtained in the last race should show us the line to follow for this weekend” Morbidelli commented again, emphasizing the’unknown factor related to the grip of the tires on the track, which could create some problems even for the most experienced riders.
In Barcelona, Morbidelli wants to return to the levels of the beginning of the season, when he relatively consistently finished races among the top five. He has also suffered an injury in recent race weekends, but in Balaton, Top 6 finishes have restored great confidence to the Italian-Brazilian rider, who is still ahead of teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio in the standings, albeit by only 7 points.
