Lorenzo Musetti’s coach unveils anti-Jannik Sinner strategy
Lorenzo Musetti’s coach, Simone Tartarini, in an interview with the Adnkronos spoke about the upcoming derby at the US Open against Jannik Sinner: whoever wins qualifies for the semifinals of the American tournament. “The excitement is there and it would be strange otherwise. Lorenzo is happy to face Jannik in this setting, it is not trivial to challenge the number one in the quarters of a Slam”.
Musetti’s strategy in the match against the South Tyrolean is well outlined: “The challenge against Munar gave good indications, I saw him very confident with his shots and above all focused on every ball. Against Jannik he will have to try to play a bit more on the lines, hit the ball more, be aggressive with the starting shot. We’ve been working on this all along, these are general indications. The favorable odds are for Jannik, the ranking says so. As Italians, we will just have to enjoy the match”.
The two faced each other in 2019 in the qualifiers of the Rome Internazionali: “There’were a lot of people at the ‘Pietrangeli’ snooping around for these two kids who were said to be great things”.
The match will be played on Wednesday night and Thursday night in a packed Arthur Ashe Stadium.
