World Cup Qualification 2026: Faroe Islands-Croatia, the probable formations

Backed by two wins in as many matches in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Croatia flies to the Faroe Islands to try to snatch another three points to help keep pace with the Czech Republic, which leads Group L with nine points but has also played two more matches. It is played at Torsvollur in Torshavn on Friday at 8:45 p.m.
.
The Far Oer’s only success so far in the group is the one over the Gibraltar national team last June 9, a 2-1 win signed by Arni Frederiksberg and Patrik Johannesen. The former, in particular, is expected to be confirmed in the starting eleven among the offensive terminals fielded by Faroese coach Eydun Klakstein.
On the other hand, Croatia wants to replicate the wide victories of the first two matches: in June, in fact, the national team led by Zlatko Dalic defeated Gibraltar 7-0 and the Czech Republic 5-1. There is still room on the pitch for veteran Luka Modric, who has meanwhile ended his experience at Real Madrid and made his debut in an AC Milan jersey.
