Eve of the world semifinal in Bangkok. Tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Italian time live on Rai 1, Dazn, Rai Play and VBTV, the Azzurri will return to the PalaHuamark against Brazil in a challenge that is worth the rainbow final. As in 2022, therefore, Gabi and her teammates will be the last obstacle between Italy and the last act of the World Championships.

An evocative new crossroads a little more than a month after the Azzurri’s success in the VNL final in Lodz (3-1) and previously from the victory in the final match of the first week of VNL (3-0) at the Maracanazinho in Rio de Janeiro. Important victories accrued in the recent past against an opponent, however, never beaten in a World Cup.

On the other side of the scoreboard, it will be Turkey-Japan (on court at 10:30 a.m. Italian time live on Dazn and VBTV) ready to compete in the first semifinal of the day at PalaHuamark.

Julio Velasco spoke on the eve: “We hope to beat them and dispel this statistic that sees us always defeated at the World Cup against Brazil but I think in general, that the before and after of this match matters little. This statistic, our winning streak, will not be decisive in a match like the one we are preparing to face. This will definitely be a difficult, I think balanced match to be played with great care. What I can say is that the girls are doing well, we are working well, but then the field will do the talking. They are a technical team, full of energy: I expect Brazil to be very focused and ready to give everything, just like us after all.”
