Carlos Alcaraz is looking forward to the Us Open final against Jannik Sinner: “I am happy, very happy that I beat Djokovic. I think this is the first time I beat him on concrete, and I am satisfied that I made it to the final. I tried not to think about what he has done during his career, just thinking about focusing on the kind of match I was supposed to play. It was not a perfect match, but I am happy to have made it to the final”.

“Consistency in matches, tournaments and during the year in general is something I am working on: especially avoiding ups and downs during the course of a match. Keeping the level with which I start the match high throughout the match. I think this is my best level expressed in a tournament, however, there is one match left. I’m maturing on and off the court, I’m proud of that.”

“I think Sinner from a physical standpoint has improved a lot and it’s obvious. It’s no secret. His matches are very physically demanding but he still manages to play 100 percent for two, three, four hours, and I think that has been his biggest improvement”.

Closing on Federer: “Roger suggested that I think about a five-year horizon. I think there is no better person who could have said that to me, so I will try to follow his words”.
