Jannik Sinner had to surrender to a deluxe version of Carlos Alcaraz in the Us Open final. The Spaniard beat the’Azzurro in four sets (6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4), taking his sixth Grand Slam title and returning to the top of the ATP rankings, just behind Jannik.

A real show of strength by the Murcian who, except for the second set, was always in control of the match with almost all statistics in his favor: 10 aces to 2, 0 double faults vs. the 4 of the South Tyrolean, twice as many winners as Jannik (42 to 21) and 4 fewer free errors (24 to 28).

“And a great feeling. It is beautiful – admitted the new world number one in the press conference -. I work hard just to lift this trophy. It is the second one, but it remains a dream come true. To win here a second time is really special”.
