Talking exclusively to the microphones of Sportal.it, Flavio Cobolli commented on the’evolution of his career, which led him to reach the number 25 position in the ATP ranking at the last update. The Roman, moreover, certainly doesn&#8217t want to stop and is aiming to climb even higher in the rankings, on the strength of a season in which he has taken more than one satisfaction.

“I’ve always worked to be among the strongest tennis players in the world – said the Roman tennis player during an event in Genoa organized by Pulsee Luce e Gas, his new sponsor.”

I can’t say that I expected it a priori, but I always felt that there was something in me that had to be turned on, and that something was turned on. I hope, now, that it stays lit for many more years”.

A class of 2002, born in Florence but raised in Subiaco, near Rome, Flavio Cobolli this season also reached seventeenth place in the world rankings, thanks in part to an excellent run at Wimbledon, where he climbed all the way to the quarterfinals, for the first time in his career on the grass of the Championships, surrendering only to Novak Djokovic.

In 2025, Cobolli captured his first two tournaments on the major circuit, in Bucharest in April, beating Sebastian Baez of Argentina in the final, and in Hamburg in late May, defeating Andrey Rublev of Russia in the tournament&#8217s final act. In his career, Cobolli also boasts victory in the ITF M15 Antalya in 2021 and successes in the Challengers of Zadar (2022) and Lisbon (2023).
